My dear friend (mentioned above) is one of those people who has a knack for making recipes taste even better with good for you ingredients. Here are her tweaks if you'd like to give them a whirl.
Instead of using 1/2 cup peanut butter, use 1/4 cup and substitute sunflower butter for the other 1/4 cup.
Increase the oatmeal by 1/4 cup to cut down on the sweetness.
(Making these changes does not increase the Weight Watchers PointsPlus per bite)
Here's the original recipe:
- Prep Time : 5 minutes
This recipe is incredibly simple. Mix all of the ingredients together and roll the dough into 1 1/2 inch balls.
Tip: Use a small ice cream scoop to get uniform sizes.
This recipe makes approximately 15 balls. Each ball is Weight Watchers PointsPlus 4.
A dear friend recently sent me this recipe and told me it was one that my family and I just had to try. I’m so glad she did. The kids went crazy over this one. I like these bites because they are simple to make, are packed with loads of good for you ingredients, I know exactly what’s going into my kiddo’s after school snack and they taste AMAZING!
We’re not sure where the original recipe came from but want to be clear we’re not taking credit for this as one of our original recipes.
The thing is, when you’re a foodie like me and you find a delicious and healthy recipe that your kids love you want to YELL IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS! Or more quietly, post it for the world to see.
So, recipe guru who came up with the original, my kids and I thank you!
