Jalapeño Cream Cheese Wontons

Make as little or as much as you want.  I would suggest 2-3 per person to accompany the entree.  Get creative with your ingredients.  Add crab meat to make crab rangoon's, remove pepper to make kid friendly etc.

  • Cook Time : 5 minutes



Lay out wonton wrappers on a cutting board or flat surface.  Place a small amount of cream cheese on one corner.  Top it with a pickled jalapeño slice.  Using your finger and with some tap water rub the outer edges of the wonton skins.  Fold them over corner to corner and press to seal.  2013-10-04 11.53.05

In a medium size sauce pot bring oil to a medium high heat.  Toss in only a few wontons at a time.  THESE COOK QUICKLY...we are talking not even a minute per side.  Flip when ready and then remove and place on a paper towel.  This is important so that the remaining oil is absorbed on the paper and not making the wonton soggy.  Note that the color will darken once removed so be careful to not over cook.


Make this recipe Weight Watchers Friendly by baking the wontons (instead of frying) at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes (5 minutes on each side). Weight Watchers PointsPlus 3 for 3 wontons.


This is so easy you will wonder why you pay money to get these delivered!  One day I was deciding what to make for dinner and I had a craving for those cream cheese wontons you get from your local Asian restaurant.  Then I thought wait…I have the ingredients, why don’t I just make them myself?
