Prepare a large electric mixer bowl and an additional large bowl.
In the electric mixer bowl combine 2 cups flour, yeast, salt and spices. We like to use rosemary or a combination of thyme and basil.
Pour in warm water (So warm it is almost hot - But not HOT or it will kill the yeast) and oil.
Mix on low speed for 1 minute. Change the speed to high and mix an additional 3 minutes.
Slowly add the remaining 2 cups of flour until the dough is no longer runny but sticks to the mixing paddle. HINT: If you turn your mixer to high speed it should all gather in a large, sticky ball around the paddle.
TIP: If using white flour, you will need an additional 1/2 cup of flour.
Prepare the additional large bowl with cooking spray. Using a rubber scraper, scrape the pizza dough into the greased bowl and spray the top of the dough with cooking spray. Cover with a clean cloth to trap in the heat and allow the dough to rise.
Let the dough rise for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
Once the dough has risen, prepare a clean surface on your table or countertop. Dust with flour.
The dough will stick to your fingers, so dip your fingers in flour before handling the dough.
Roll it out in a rectangle shape or circle shape.
Bake for 3 minutes before adding toppings. This will give your crust a crispy texture and will eliminate soggy crust under pizza toppings.
Once the toppings are on, bake an additional 7-10 minutes until the toppings and outside of the crust are golden brown.
This recipe will make approximately 2 14 inch pizzas (8 slices per round 14 inch pizza). Each serving is 2 slices (WITHOUT TOPPINGS); Weight Watchers PointsPlus 6 per serving.
