Black Bean Burgers

The process for making these may seem a bit "out there" but they will taste delicious! You'll see.

  • Prep Time : 15 minutes
  • Cook Time : 20 minutes

Instructions

First preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Start out by draining and rinsing the black beans. Transfer them to a bowl and mash them using a fork.

Chop up your veggies. Let's assemble, shall we?

Black Bean Burgers

Using a food processor or blender, blend the onions, red bell peppers, garlic, chili powder and cumin together. Once mostly blended add half of the black beans.

Add the egg and oats. The consistency will be very runny. This is where the other half of the black beans come in to thicken things up a bit.

Add the rest of the blackbeans and stir by hand to incorporate.

Pour the batter onto a foil lined baking sheet in 4 medium sized circles.

Bake for 10 minutes on each side.

Serve with Garlic Aioli Dipping Sauce and avacado slices. I didn't find a bun necessary but I'm sure it would taste great with one.

I also added a side of Sweet and Blue/Purple Potato Fries. So tasty!

I love veggie burgers and black bean burgers! After looking at the long list of ingredients in most brands (with many consisting of ingredients proven to be unhealthy) I knew that I could create my own black bean burger with all natural ingredients, keeping it simple and tasty. I just know you’re going to love this one!
