Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
If you don't have buttermilk on hand, make your own in only 5 minutes using 2 ingredients.
Don't have any cake flour in your cupboard? Make your own!
In an electric mixing bowl (or mix by hand) combine the flours, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt.
Add the applesauce until combined. Add the buttermilk until combined.
Mixture will be sticky. Using a large spoon, plop heaping spoonfuls of dough onto a sheet lined with parchment paper (or just grease your pan).
TIP: Using parchment paper helps your baked goods cook evenly, eliminating dark bottoms on your biscuits. It also makes it a snap to clean up!
Bake for approximately 7 minutes or until lightly browned on top and cooked through.
*Oven temperatures will vary so just keep a close watch after 5 minutes.
